NOC TOTAL LOGOS 4 EN

London, 23 May 2018:

Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced that on Sunday (20 May) a quantity of propane gas estimated at 61.761 barrels was shipped to Italy from Zueitina oil port on board the tanker Gas Concord.

The NOC said that the shipment is the first of its kind to Italy since the Zueitina gas plant stopped operating four years ago.

It will be recalled that the NOC had also announced in April that production of ethylene and polyethylene were to start production at its Ras Lanuf complex ‘‘soon’’.

It should be noted that the Ras Lanuf ethylene plant has been inactive since 2011, and the polyethylene plant has been suspended since 2013. The plants are awaiting necessary maintenance and the re-commissioning of the refinery to provide the necessary feedstock raw material.
