LNA announces C4ISR conference

By Sami Zaptia:

129-C4ISR Libya conference-Benghazi-April-070318
The LNA will be holding a scientific conference in April in Benghazi on command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

London, 8 March 2018:

The Libyan National Army (LNA), the eastern-based army under the command of Khalifa Hafter and aligned to the House of Representatives (HoR), announced yesterday that it was holding a ‘‘C4ISR’’ scientific conference in Benghazi on 28-30 April 2018.

C4ISR stands for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. The equivalent US term is C4ISTAR.

It will be noted that the LNA advertised the event as a ‘‘scientific conference’’ as, in theory at least, there is still an embargo on the sale of arms to Libya.

Libya Herald contacted the LNA Spokesperson yesterday asking for more details about the content of the conference and whether there were any international participants expected. All the LNA were prepared to add was that the event ‘‘will have attendance from many European and Arab countries’’.
