Tunis, 11 October 2017:
The head of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Hafter, has ordered all military units to immediately close their media offices and to stop publishing on social media. The one exception is the media office and Facebook page of the LNA’s general command.
This is not this first time that the general command has moved to control news dissemination. All armed forces personnel are forbidden to speak to the media or issue statements other than the official spokesman, Colonel Ahmed Mismari.
