Benghazi, 20 September 2017:
The Beida-based government led by Abdullah Al-Thinni has announced that tomorrow, Thursday, will be a public holiday. It will be first day of Muharram, 1439 – the beginning of the new Islamic year. Usually it is a two-day holiday, but since the following day is a Friday, that dos not count this year.
No announcement has been made by the Presidency Council in Tripoli, but it is thought that people there and other areas nominally uner its control will also take the day off.
