Tunis, 3 July 2017:
Traffic using the southern Libyan-Tunisian border crossing between Wazen and Dahiba are facing serious delays because of roadworks on the Libyan side.
According to the Tunisian authorities this afternoon, there is up to a four-hour delay for cars and ten hours for commercial vehicles. Earlier it has been announced that no commercial traffic would be allowed to cross for the three days that work was being carried out, but this appears to have been relaxed.
The works, undertaken by the authorities in Nalut, started at midnight last night.
The delays are expected to result in an increase in traffic on the northern crossing at Ras Jedir. Meanwhile near there, one Libyan was been killed and several others injured in a traffic accident on the bridge between Zarsis and Djerba.
