Tunis, 14 April 2017:
Turkey is to begin issuing tourist visas from its Tripoli embassy. A statement from the Turkish embassy said applicants had to declare their income status, provide a bank statement and evidence of their occupation. A valid air ticket to Turkey hotel reservation is also required.
In addition, applicants’ passports must be valid for at least six months, containing at least two blank pages. Applicant must also provide documentation showing travel insurance has been acquired.
If a child under the age of 18 is applying, a letter of consent from their parents is required.
Until now, the Turkish consulate in Misrata has been the only place in Libya handling visa applications.
Turkey reopened its Tripoli embassy in January 2017.
