Tunis, 29 April 2017:
The Presidency Council-backed foreign minister Mohamed Siala was in London yesterday for talks with the Under-Secretary of the UK’s Foreign Office, Sir Simon McDonald. Siala updated him on the current situation in Tripoli.
A key part of their discussions was strengthening UK-Libya relations and establishing security and stability in Libya.
A statement by Siala’s office said Britain was keen to cooperate with the PC as well as provide support to the new Presidential Guard.
The two also looked at how to restructure and train the Libyan army. Siala is also understood to have raised the issue concerning the current UN-enforced arms embargo on Libya.
