Tunis, 6 March 2017:
A Dutch foreign ministry delegation was in Tripoli today for discussions with Presidency Council head Faiez Serraj as well as with the deputy foreign minister Lutfi Al-Magharbi.
The delegation, comprising Christiann Rebergen, Director-General of International Cooperation, Frank Keurhorst, the head of the ministry’s Maghreb, Egypt and Middle East Peace Process department, and Dutch ambassador Eric Strating, were looking at ways in which the Netherlands might contribute to the peace process in Libya.
As well as detailed talks with Al-Magharbi about a number of possible projects, the Dutch team also met with members of the coast guard and toured a migrant detention centre.
Foreign minister Taha Siyala is attending a meeting Arab foreign ministers in Cairo.
