Tripoli, 22 February 2017:
The South Korean car carrier, Morning Compass, seized by the Libyan Navy in water off the east of the country three days ago, was released this morning after checks on its cargo showed that it was carrying nothing of concern to the authorities. It has now arrived in Misrata to unload a number of vehicles
The vessel, with a crew of 12 Filipinos, ten Bulgarians and two Ukranians, was arrested after it allegedly ignored warnings not to enter the restricted military maritime zone off Derna.
With some 5,000 new and used vehicles on board, its final destination is Germany.
