Tripoli, 12 August 2016:
Outgoing German ambassador Christian Much flew to Tripoli yesterday to say farewell to Presidency Council head Faiez Serraj.
He said that he remained optimistic that Libya could weather the present crisis and he called for an end to divisions and for unity behind the Serraj government.
Much then went on to a reception at the foreign ministry hosted by the minister Mohamed Siala.
As with many other diplomatic missions to Libya, Germany’s embassy was relocated to Tunis in the summer of 2014.
Much’s replacement is expected to arrive in Tunis next month.
