Tripoli, 22 June 2016:
One of the members of the “Tripoli Good Project”, Mohamed Shaker, has been abducted, the organisation has announced. A student at the Tripoli University’s Faculty of Economics and Political Science, he has been a volunteer for some time with the project, which works to help the needy in the capital.
During Ramadan it has been cooperating with similar organisations to provide food for poorer people as well as visiting sick children in hospital.
The reasons for his abduction is unknown, although anyone from a middle class family is currently a potential target for Tripoli’s kidnappers, who invariably demand exhorbitant ransoms.
