Tripoli, 5 May 2016:
Abdullah Al-Thinni, the prime minister of the still officially-appointed HoR government, has sacked Presiency Council . . .[restrict]member Fathi Majbri as his education minister. The post has been given to Thinni’s deputy prime minister, Abdulrahman Al-Taher Al-Ahirish.
The announcement today is largely symbolic – the education minister in the Thinni administration has little real power – but it also indicates growing hostility to the Presidency Council by Thinni.
Majbri has had almost nothing to do with the Thinni adminisation for seven months, having been appointed to the Presidency Council last October. [/restrict]
