Tripoli, 30 May 2016:
The official spokesman of the House of Representatives (HoR), Faraj Buhashem, has been sacked by . . .[restrict]HoR President Ageela Saleh. He has been replaced by Abdullah Bulaihak.
No reason has been given by Salah as to why he had dismissed Buhashem. However, it is believed to be because Buhashem was one of the 100 HoR members who signed a petition calling for the Government of National Unity led by Faiez Serraj to be formally appointed by parliament as the government.
Ageela Saleh, while approving in principle the Libyan Political Agreement, is said to be deeply opposed to Serraj taking over as prime minister and supplanting him as the effective head of state. He has already been sanctioned by the US and the EU for blocking an HoR vote on the issue. [/restrict]
