London, 13 April 2016:

The Tripoli Central Bank of Libya (CBL) revealed yesterday that its Governor Saddek Elkaber met with . . .[restrict]Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Vincenzo Amendola and the Italian Economy and Finance Minister Pier Carlo Padoan in Rome last week.

Elkaber was attending an international finance conference in the Italian capital. The international conference concentrated on fighting money-laundering and countering financial crime.

During the meetings the Italians expressed their readiness to help cooperate and offer advice to the CBL, as well as expressing the importance of the role played by the CBL in Libya during these difficult times.
