Tunis, 21 April 2016:
One of the members of the Presidency Council, Ahmed Hamza, has told municipal representatives and . . .[restrict]leading figures in Fezzan that the proposed Government of National Accord will invest in the development of the south of the country.
Hamza, one of the three southern members of the Presidency Council and appointed to be Minister for Civil Society Affairs, was in Traghen, 130 kilometres south of Sebha, to meet local officials from the area.
The visit is part of a nation-wide tour by Presidency Council members to hear the concerns of local people and ensure local development.
According to a Presidency Council statement, two of the most important concerns raised in Traghen today were the lack of money in the banks and the sharp deterioration in the quality of life for ordinary people. For his part, Hamza promised that the reopening of Seba airport would be given priority, along with support for hospitals and health centres. The GNA would also focus on illegal migration and completing stalled projects.
Among those he met today were also representatives of the mainly Tebu community in Qatrun. [/restrict]
