The Tripoli administration condemned Tunisian media for accusing Libya of ”exporting terror”.

London, 29 February 2016:

The Tripoli-based Ministry of Information yesterday condemned both public and privately-owned Tunisian media for accusing Libya of ‘‘exporting terrorism’’.

The statement said that it is widely known and accepted locally and internationally that the ‘‘majority’’ of the terrorists in Libya who associated themselves with IS/DAESH are believed to be of ‘‘Tunisian’’ origin.

The Tripoli administration refuted these ‘‘irresponsible allegations’’ while at the same time acknowledged and valued the joint efforts in fighting terrorism with the Tunisian authorities.

It will be recalled that on two different occasions recently the RADA Special Deterrence Force has deported from Tripoli Mitiga airport a group of eight and six Tunisians suspected of IS/DAESH activity.

Equally, many of the Tunisians that have been shot or arrested in Sabratha recently are also believed to be Tunisians. [/restrict]
