Tripoli, 10 February 2016:
Members of a number of judicial groups protested today outside the Ministry of Justice buildings . . .[restrict]in Tripoli, claiming that the planned draft constitution being drawn up by the Constitutional Drafting Assembly (CDA) did not intend to allow for an independent judiciary.
The protestors were also angry that the CDA had ignored all their recommendations on the matter. They said that as a result they would have no more dealings with the CDA and would appeal to the Supreme Court over the matter.
It is not clear how the court could rule on a constitution that does not exist. [/restrict]
