Despite the continuing crisis in the House of Representatives (HoR)over the appointment of the the Government of . . .[restrict]National Accord, its president Ageela Salah found time today to take part in the conference in Cairo today of speakers of Arab parliaments.
He was accompanied by a five-man delegation which included HoR members Adel Mahfouz and Abdullah Al-Lafi. The one-day conference, organised by the Arab League and the Arab Parliament, is looking at the challenges to parliamentary democracy across the Arab world. Among issues on the agenda was the need to prevent Arab youth from radicalisation.
It is the first conference of parliamentary speakers.
Also in Cairo is the other key player in the current HoR standoff over the GNA, Presidency Council leader Faiez Serraj. [/restrict]
