Faiez Sirraj, the Prime Minister-designate of the Government of National Accord (GNA) met with Egyptian . . .[restrict]President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi yesterday in Cairo.
During the meeting Sisi confirmed Egypt’s support for the GNA as a solution to ending the Libyan crises. Both agreed on the need to fight terrorism and the need for the Libyan state to have a monopoly on the use of force through professional, organized, regular military institutions.
Serraj raised the problems facing the Libyan diaspora and displaced and requested that Cairo airport is reopened to Libyan flights. He also requested the easing of Egyptian visa and residency procedures for Libyans.
Serraj’s request for the opening of an official Libyan elementary and secondary school was reported to have been met with a positive Egyptian response. [/restrict]
