Tunis, 26 November 2015:
The Health Minister in the Beida-based Thinni government, Reda Al-Awkuli Al-Menshawi, has signed a Memorandum . . .[restrict]of Understanding with a German medical group on cooperation in the field of prosthetics.
The agreement signed includes the establishment of a workshop in Libya to make artificial limbs, and fitting and maintaining them under the supervision of a specialised German. It also includes training Libyan technicians in Germany.
The minister arrived in Germany from Italy when he met Italian Health Minister Beatrice Lorenzin and discussed healthcare cooperation.
The German authorities, however, insist that there would be similar talks with the minister. “It’s a private visit,” a German official told the Libya Herald, explaining that at present Germany recognised no government in Libya and would not formally meet any Libyan official until the government of national accord were formed.
