Tripoli, 25 October 2015:
The increased precariousness of life in Tripoli was tragically demonstrated late on Friday night when a . . .[restrict]Libyan diplomat was shot dead after he failed to stop at a checkpoint.
Imad Omar Al-Turki, from Zawia and reportedly serving in Pakistan but back in Libya on holiday, was driving his vehicle along Omar Mukhtar Street. It had tinted windows and when he did not stop at a checkpoint, guards fired several shots, killing him.
It is not known why he did not stop. [/restrict]
