Tripoli, 11 September 2015:
The closure of the coast road between between Zawia and Tripoli because of continuing clashes . . .[restrict]between pro-House of Representative forces and those linked to the regime in the capital has forced pilgrims from Zuwara and Sabratha leaving to perform Haj in Mecca to alter their initial itinerary.
Instead of an impossible bus trip to Mitiga airport yesterday they were flown on a private plane from Zuwara airport to Mitiga where they then joined one of the current daily special Haj flight to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
The pilgrims, 24 of them from Zuwara, some of them elderly and infirm, were given support and assistance by local boy scouts on the first leg of their journey.
