The leader of Libya Dawn in Tarhouna, Salah Marghani, is reported to have been shot and . . .[restrict]flown to Turkey for urgent treatment.
Marghani (no close relation to the former justice minister of the same name) heads a family-controlled militia and has come to dominate in the town, 80 kilometres south east of Tripoli, after wiping out a rival prominent family and throwing in his lot with Libya Dawn.
Alleged to have previously been a supporter of Qaddafi regime, he has been accused of responsibility for the massacre in March of the Habshi family, in which as many as eight family members are said to have died. It was accused being anti-Libya Dawn.
It is not know who was involved in yesterday’s attack in which Marghani was said to have been shot seven times.
Meanwhile, there still has been no confirmation about Thursday’s alleged attack on Tripoli militia commander Haithem Tajouri. He too is now said to have been air ambulanced to Turkey for treatment. [/restrict]
