Ghat, 25 July 2015:
Algeria has sent 70 tonnes of food aid to the south west border town of Ghat. . . .[restrict]Delivered by the Algerian Red Crescent, the good is being distributed by the local council to those in the town, including many displaced families, considered in need.
The Algerian authorities had announced earlier that they had decided to provide urgent assistance to people in south west Libya following a desperate appeal for food supplies by local tribal elders in the area.
It initially resulted in two plane-loads of supplies being flown from Algiers to Ghat. [/restrict]
