Tripoli, 16 June 2015:
Petrol stations in Rujban have fuel for the first time in eight months.
Petrol tankers arrived in the . . .[restrict]town yesterday from Zawya to fill the stations.
“This development came after peace progress between us and our brothers of Zawia,” Tarek Rujbani from Rujban Municipal Council told the Libya Herald. “We have been deprived of fuel since the start of Libya Dawn’s war last year as a punishment for our sympathetic position towards our Zintani brothers,” he added.
Rujban has supported the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Libyan National Army (LNA) throughout the current conflict with the result that supplies of petrol and other goods coming from the coast were cut. One of the only sources of supplies was via the airport at Zintan. [/restrict]
