The Beida-based cabinet of Prime Minister Abdullah Al-Thinni has announced that it is moving that Civil . . .[restrict]Status Authority from the Ministry of Local Government to the Interior Ministry. The decision is one of 19 issued by the government today.
Among others, it has dismissed the president of the Social Development Fund, Salem Buzeid Karkub and replaced him with Khaled Khalifa Taher. The Fund’s Director-General, Salah Mohammed Abdullah, has also been dismissed and he and Karkub have been referred to the Audit Authority for investigation.
Two other people dismissed are the Libyan Consul-General in Jeddah, Nasser Mohamed Ghwell, and the head of the Nuclear Power Authority, Zeidan Muhamed Humani.
Meanwhile the government has said that it is providing LD16 million for the Information, Culture and Antiquities Authority, has approved LD 29 million for the construction of the new National Oil Corporation Headquarters in Benghazi, the foundation stone of which was laid over a year and a half ago, given formal approval to plans to build an new A&E hospital in the city and agreed a number of major urban cleaning contracts.
