Benghazi, 29 May 2015:
In a bid to win “hearts and minds”, the Islamic State has launched a public relations operation . . .[restrict]in Derna.
It has opened a media kiosk in the town, which it currently controls, to inform the local public about its activities in what it calls its State of Cyrenaica as well as across Libya.
It is not known how many people have taken an interest. Photos from its Barka TV station announcing the opening of the centre showed people lining up to use the computers and see the videos there. However, there were very few, indicating little interest locally in the facility, or in IS’ situation.
