Tripoli, 15 March 2015:
Violence against children will concern Libyan researchers at a seven-day workshop in Hammamet, Tunisia.
The workshop, . . .[restrict]hosted by UNICEF, provides the attendees with tools and methods for conducting surveys and encouraging discussion groups among parents, educators and others who work with children as well as with children themselves.
The workshop will be followed by surveys in Libya’s cities and towns, gathering and analysing data, leading to a report on the current realities of child abuse in Libya. The information will help inform a strategy to combat child abuse in the country.
Said UNICEF Special Representative in Libya Ghassan Khalil at the opening session of the workshop, “This is the start of a research process that will lead to evidence based knowledge on violence against children and young people in Libya”. [/restrict]
