There are reports of continued fighting at the Brak Al-Shatti civilian and military airport located . . .[restrict]about 500 km south of Tripoli and just north of Sebha.
The heavy fighting is reported to be between the Third Force of the Central Shield and the Libyan National Army.
The Third Force is believed to still be centred inside the joint civilian airport and military base, and were assigned to protect the base as well as the southern region in general in February 2014 by the Ali Zeidan government.
The road that links Sebha and Brak has been closed off to motorists at the Gwera checkpoint. [/restrict]
