Tripoli, 28 February 2015:
The Wataniya TV and Radio stations in Sebha have gone off air today after the building . . .[restrict]housing them was attacked this morning. It is not clear if the attack was political. As well as smashing up the premises, those responsible are reported to have stolen cables and equipment.
Questions are being asked about the role of police who were supposed to be protecting the building. They are said to have been withdrawn before the attack.
It is that not the first time Wataniya in Sebha has been attacked. Generators have been stolen more than once.
Meanwhile it is reported that a university professor in the town died earlier this week when he was hit by a stray bullet. Mansour al-Sanusi Hammadi is reported to have been killed on Thursday.
Occasional random shootings continue in the town, regarded as the capital of Fezzan. Recently a mortar was reported to have hit a Sebha wedding tent killing three women wounding many more. [/restrict]
