Malta, 2 February 2015:
In an official statement received by Libya Herald today, the Maltese owners of Tripoli’s Corinthia . . .[restrict]hotel said that they are still unclear as to the motive for the attack on its hotel.
Moreover, the management are also still unsure as to how exactly the tragic events on January 27 unfolded. Nevertheless, the hotel group said that they would continue working in Libya.
”It is not for IHI (Corinthia) to speculate on the motives behind the attack’’, the statement said, adding that they ‘’have nothing to suggest that this was in any way directed specifically at the company”.
”The events marked a traumatic and saddening day for all our colleagues and guests at the hotel. The loss of life’’, the statement continued, ‘’is tragic and we grieve for those who were senselessly killed’’.
However, on the details of the attack, the hotel group said that ‘’the exact unfolding of events is still being fully established’’.
Looking forward, the hotel group said that they intend ‘’to ensure the security of our colleagues and guests’’ and that it was‘’now assessing damage’’ with a ‘’commitment to continue operations’’ in Tripoli. [/restrict]
