By Libya Herald reporter.

Malta, 13 February 2015:

Saqr Geroushi, the head of the Libyan Air Force, has denied that any military craft . . .[restrict]belonging to the LNA had been shot down by the Dawn-Shurooq (Sunrise) forces in the Sirte-Ben Jawad areas on Thursday.

Various media sources had reported a claim by the head of the Gardabia base Thursday that an LNA Air Force MIG-21 was shot down by Shurooq forces using a SAM missile.

Geroushi, speaking to the pro-HoR official state news agency, LANA, said that on the contrary, LNA fighter jets had carried out numerous raids on Shurooq positions in and around the central Libyan region of Sirte, Ben Jawad and beyond.

Geroushi added that his Air Force had pounded the Gardabia airbase of Sirte scoring direct hits on two tanks belonging to the Libya Dawn militias near Ben Jawd.

In denying the reports carried by a pro Libya Dawn TV station, Geroushi called upon the TV station to transmit footage of the damage caused by his air force to the Gardabia airport warehouses.

Other media sources reported that a convoy of Shurooq military vehicles was hit by the LNA fighter jets. [/restrict]
