Tripoli, 6 February 2015:
The Egyptian Ministry of Interior has agreed to train 2,000 Libyan operatives from the Central Intelligence . . .[restrict]Department (CID), Minister of Interior Omar Al-Sinki has announced.
Sinki has said that the government has initiated the training in an effort to better confront terrorism in Libya.
Speaking in Tunis before flying to France, he said that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi was very eager to cooperate with Libyan authorities in order to provide whatever they need to solve the Libyan crisis.
“Stability in Libya, Egypt and Tunisia will not be established until we have rooted out the Islamic State (IS), therefore cooperation between our countries is imperative,” Sinki stressed.
It is not yet known when the trainees will deploy to Egypt or how long the course will last, as the details are still being worked out by the Egyptian Ministry of Interior. [/restrict]
