As part of the continuing efforts by the internationally unrecognised “government” in Tripoli to find friends . . .[restrict]and influence people, a four-man delegation is reported to have turned up at 10 Downing Street in London hoping to see UK Prime Minister David Cameron and win him over to Libya Dawn’s side.
Unfortunately for them, it seems they was unable to see Cameron or anyone else from the British government which on several occasions has said that it views the Hassi administration as illegitimate. Nonetheless, the group were allowed to pass through the security gates at the entrance to Downing Street, hand some papers to the policeman at the door of No. 10 and pose with him for a photo so that Libya Dawn could know that at least they tried.
The papers are reported to include a copy of the Supreme Court decision which the Hassi regime and Libya Dawn claim annuls the House of Representatives (but which in fact annulled the House of Representatives’ right to choose whether a state president should be elected or appointed by it), a memorandum explaining the objectives of Libya Dawn, and another on what was described as the “crimes” of Khalifa Hafter in Benghazi.
