Tunis, 18 December 2014:
The two Libya-Tunisia border crossings at Ras Jedir and Dehiba will close tonight at midnight and . . .[restrict]remain closed and until midnight, Wednesday 24 December 2014. Exceptions will, however, be made for emergency and humanitarian cases.
The move, taken by the Tunisian government’s Crisis Committee, is to ensure that Sunday’s second-round presidential elections go ahead peacefully and that there is no disturbances afterwards. The committee is reported to have taken the decision because of the continuing clashes in the Libyan border area.
The Tunisian border with Algeria is not being closed during the elections. [/restrict]
