Tripoli, 25 December 2014:
The body of the kidnapped teenaged daughter of an Egyptian couple killed near Sirte two . . .[restrict]days ago has been found.
The Tripoli-based news agency LANA said that Sirte’s Ibn Sina hospital confirmed this evening that the body of Catherine Magdy Sobhi Tawfik was found 17 kilometres west of Sirte.
Her Coptic Christian parents were brutally murdered in their home on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Sirte Local Council told the Libya Herald. Catherine was abducted by the killers but two younger siblings were left abandoned in the house after the attack. They have since been taken to stay with an uncle in Misrata, he said.
The family lived in Jaref, some 60 kilometres outside Sirte. The doctor worked in a nearby medical centre, known locally as the Sixty Hospital. He had spent the last 15 years living and working in Libya, local people said.
