On the same day that the US released a joint statement on Libyan Supreme Court . . .[restrict]decision about the House of Representatives, reports have that Washington is apparently considering new sanctions against Libya.
The US may slap sanctions on warring factions in Libya, separate from the sanctions being considered by the UN, Reuters has reported.
The UN sanctions being considered would be used to pressure different factions to participate in the UN-sponsored talks. US officials are not saying exactly who US sanctions would target or why or when they would be imposed. [/restrict]
