Tripoli, 9 November 2014:
Three Supreme Court judges are reported have arrived in Tobruk since Thursday’s ruling on the House of . . .[restrict]Representatives to confer with members of the HoR. They are judges Faraj Maarouf, Abdulsalam Abhiih and Bashir Al-Ziani.
Two of the judges are said to have resigned from their posts before last Thursday in an attempt to prevent the court session from taking place. The Supreme Court Constitutional Act stipulates that judges must be appointed by the Supreme Judicial Council, which only meets once every three months.
Upon the resignation last week, new judges were appointed by Omar Al-Hassi’s Minister of Justice. According to lawyers, this is illegal. [/restrict]
