Tripoli, 10 November 2014:
Thieves apparently made away with over a million dinars in a bank heist at the Hay . . .[restrict]Al-Andalus branch of the Sahara Bank in Tripoli on Sunday night.
Photos on social media show what appears to be a safe that was opened with an explosive blast.
There have been a series of bank robberies over the past year both in the capital and elsewhere in the country, with tens of millions of dinars disappearing. In many cases, it is believed the raids were inside jobs.
