Tripoli, 10 October 2014:

A bridge on the road from the Jebel Nafusa to Aziziya has been attacked and seriously . . .[restrict]damaged according to a Zintani official. A hole was blown in the Atal bridge, not far from Bir Ayyad, using a car bomb, the official said. The structure of the bridge has been weakened and it will have to be rebuilt, he said, although one lane was still usable.

Blaming Libya Dawn forces, he said the aim was to prevent Zintanis reaching Aziziya, Bu Sheiba and Ras Al-Efaa. The Zintanis claim to have repulsed Libya Dawn attempts three days ago to capture Bu Sheiba and themselves to have captured the Ras Al-Efaa but fighting continued yesterday in both places as Libya Dawn tried to regain the initiative.

The previous day, the Zintani official said, five people had been killed and seven injured when a missile hit a mosque in Aziziya’s Omar Mukhtar district. The area is said to be under the control of Warsehfana forces. [/restrict]
