Tripoli, 25 October 2014:
TV journalist Muad Al-Tlaib, who is the son of . . .[restrict]a member of the Constitutional Drafting Assembly (CDA), has been released after he was kidnapped for the second time in Tripoli.
The Al-Assema television presenter and medical student told the Libya Herald that the kidnapping had been the result of a personal dispute. However, he refused to give further details. He was released on Thursday after being held for three days.
Tlaib was taken grabbed at Tripoli’s Mitiga airport where he was due to take a flight to Labraq. The airport is under the control of members of Libya Dawn, a group of which Al-Assema has been critical.
Tlaib’s mother, Zaineb Zaidi, a member of the CDA, used social media to ask people to pray for her son’s safe return. However, at the time of his abduction, she commented that if he was killed then his fate would be the same as hundreds of other young Libyans who died for the future of their country.
