Tripoli, 18 September 2014:
The brother of Abdulla Al-Thinni’s nominee for the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs survived an assassination . . .[restrict]attempt yesterday in Tripoli.
Armed attacker ambushed Mahmoud Allaghi in a Tripoli street. He is the brother of rights activist and cabinet nominee Farida Allaghi. A friend who was with Allaghi was killed, but Allaghi himself managed to escape unharmed.
Until now Tripoli has been a relative stranger to the politically motivated assassinations that have gripped Benghazi. Last month Mohamed Al-Suwaisi, head of Tripoli Security Directorate, was murdered in Tajoura. [/restrict]
