Tobruk, 14 September 2014:
Former Prime Minister Ali Zeidan has arrived in Tobruk from Tunis alongside . . .[restrict]the German Ambassador to Libya, Christian Much.
Much is to discuss further cooperation between Libya and Germany as well as giving Germany’s endorsement to the House of Representatives.
Zeidan’s arrival is his second return to the country since he fled to Germany after his sacking in March. In June, the former Prime Minister flew to Beida and then Tripoli where he voted in elections to the House of Representatives.
At that time he briefly claimed he was still Prime Minister, insisting his dismissal had been illegitimate. He has not voiced the claim again publicly.
Zeidan has close ties with Germany where he has dual citizenship and a home.
