Kufra, 14 August 2014:
The National Council for Civil Liberties and Human Rights has condemned the on-going conflicts in both . . .[restrict]Benghazi and Tripoli and demanded an immediate ceasefire.
The Council expressed “deep concern” about the prolonged fighting and the potential humanitarian crises in the country. It has also denouced the targeting of civilian homes and properties.
In particular, it called for ceasefire in Benghazi, condemning the constant targeting of police and army institutions. In its statement, it mentioned the danger resulting from armed groups using civilian homes as bases from which to carry out attacks.
What was happening now in Libya was a total violation of all human rights and international conventions and laws, the Council stated. [/restrict]
