Tripoli, 4 August 2014:
Two Malta-bound air ambulances flew out of Tripoli’s Mitiga airport this evening carrying more of those . . .[restrict]critically injured in the fighting in the capital.
In a low profile initiative the Maltese government is treating serious casualties without charge at trauma hospitals in Malta. So far, it is understood that in the last few days at least 20 urgent cases have been flown out of Mitiga.
The Maltese embassy, along with the diplomatic missions of the Italians, the Romanians and the Hungarians are now the only EU states to be maintaining their presence in Libya. [/restrict]
