Tripoli, 12 August 2014:
The House of Representatives (HoR) in Tobruk . . .[restrict]voted today by an overwhelming majority in favour of the election of the future Libyan head of state through a direct vote by the people – as opposed to being chosen by Libya’s legislature.
A total of 141 Representatives voted in favour of a popularly elected head of state, with two members opposing and one member abstaining.
