Tripoli, 6 August 2014:
As long, frequent power cuts continue to plague the country, the Ministry of Electricity and . . .[restrict]Renewable Energy is urging Libyans to limit their use of electricity at home and at the office, asking them to turn off lights, fans, and especially air conditioners.
The Ministry has said that the power cuts are beyond its control and are the result of an acute shortage in the fuel supply for power plants.
In addition to this, damaged power lines in and around Tripoli, as well as the shutdown of maintenance projects at the Obari and Sirte stations and the closures of stations in the east have only added to the problem. [/restrict]
