Tripoli, 18 July 2014:
The Ministry of Health has appealed to thieves to return a large quantity of vital medical supplies stolen . . .[restrict]on Wednesday.
They were taken from a storage facility in Tajoura. The stolen material included vaccinations and medicines used to treat tumours.
They were part of a large shipment that arrived on the same day to cover a shortage in medications resulting from the current crisis in the country. The Ministry stated it is concerned that the theft would further aggravate the shortage and possibly result in deaths if patients were unable to obtain the medicines they need.
The Ministry appealed to Tajoura’s Municipal Council and security institutions to cooperate to secure the facility and prevent any future robberies.
This was the second robbery at the store.
