The Higher National Elections Commission (HNEC) has announced that 3,816 Libyans abroad . . .[restrict]have voted in the elections for the House of Representatives.
Speaking at press conference today, HNEC Chairman Emad Al-Sayeh told reporters that 1,147 female and 2,669 male voters had participated in polling abroad. Overseas voters cast their ballots in 13 countries across the world at 22 polling stations.
The turnout was 38 percent of the 10,087 registered voters abroad.
Sayeh said the polling station in Manchester in the UK had witnessed the highest participation with 568 ballots cast. In comparison, he said, only 43 voters had voted at the Los Angeles’ electoral centre in the United States.
