Benghazi, 19 June 2014:
A bodyguard for former National Transitional Council chairman Mustafa Abdel Jalil has . . .[restrict]been murdered in Beida in an attack linked to a family feud.
A security official in the town told the Libya Herald that the bodyguard, Yunis Amjawor, died after a gelatina bomb was thrown at his car and exploded as he was parking. The attack took place at around 10 am yesterday.
The security official said Amjawor’s death was unrelated to his work for Jalil, adding that the bodyguard had been involved in a long-standing family feud. His assailants have been arrested by security forces and investigations are ongoing.
A Beida resident said Amjawor had later died in the town’s hospital from his wounds a few hours after his admission.
